Our home for three nights is the Drury Inn of New Orleans, only four blocks from the French Quarter. This beautiful hotel is in a restored New Orleans landmark, the 1917 Cumberland Telegraph Building. Dinner and evening at your leisure. Happy Hour included tonight.
After breakfast this morning (included in tour) we will have a local guide join us for a tour of the fascinating city of New Orleans. Discover all the fascinating sights and sounds for this unique city. A special lunch is planned at the world famous “Court of Two Sisters” (included in tour). The rest of the afternoon and evening are at your leisure. Happy Hour is included tonight.
After breakfast this morning (included) we will do a walking tour of the French Quarter with our local guide. This afternoon we will go to the D-Day Museum. Tonight we will enjoy an evening meal at the New Orleans Cooking School (included in tour).
After breakfast this morning (included) we will have a short drive this morning to Lafayette, LA our destination for two nights at the Drury Inn. Our first stop today will be at the Oak Alley Plantation, built in 1839. This national historic landmark is famous for its alley of 28 live Oak trees. Lunch will be included here. After lunch we will meet our local guide and then have a tour of the Atchafalaya Swamp. The boat will ride under the I-10 Swamp Expressway which took 10 years to build and is an engineering feat. We will see swamp vegetation and wildlife. Some of the time alligators are seen. A very special event is planned for you this evening. Glenn’s Motorcoach Tours has planned a “Lagniappe” (Cajun word for something extra). Dinner with entertainment included. Enjoy a “Fais Do-Do” featuring delicious Cajun food and live Cajun music and dancing.
Breakfast included this morning. Traveling south today to visit the Tabasco Factory, the only one in the world. Then visit Avery Island Jungle, located on the top of a salt mine. There are many types of plants and wildlife in the gardens. Alligators are usually seen here too. This afternoon a stop will be made at St. Martinville (hear the Evangeline story). Happy Hour is included tonight. Dinner and evening are at your leisure.
After breakfast this morning (included) we will have a short ride this morning, we’ll cross “Old Man River”- the Mississippi River. Then we are into Natchez, MS. This old historic town, untouched by the Civil War, has hundreds of antebellum homes. You will visit two of these homes and have a delightful city tour of Natchez. We have a special dinner at a historic home planned for tonight. Tonight we stay in Vidalia, LA.
After breakfast this morning (included) we have a beautiful drive today in the springtime. Our destination will be Memphis, TN. Sightseeing this afternoon will be at Graceland the 15,000 square- foot mansion of the late “King of Rock and Roll.” Tonight we will be back in Horn Lake, MS. Staying once again at the lovely Drury Inn. Happy Hour included tonight. Dinner and evening at your leisure.
