Today we will be traveling to Merrium, Kansas. Our local guide will give us a personal tour of the area and a view into Merrium’s fascinating history. We’ll eat dinner at a local hotspot (included in the tour).
Today we will be traveling first to Chandler, OK, for a stop at the Route 66 Interpretive Center. We move on to Oklahoma City and the Bricktown area overnight. Grab dinner at one of the numerous restaurants and take a water taxi ride to the Oklahoma Land Run Monument. Dinner and evening are at your leisure.
We follow Route 66, stopping at the National Route 66 Museum in Elk City, OK. We continue through Amarillo, TX, and on to Roswell, NM, for the night.
We tour the UFO Museum & Research Center today in Roswell. We stay in Tucson 3 nights. Dinner included and evening at your leisure.
Today we travel to Saguaro National Park and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Bring your camera! We’ll next tour the Historic Spanish Mission of San Xavier del Bac. Be sure to be hungry for the Cowboy BBQ Dinner at the Tanque Verde Ranch for dinner!
Breakfast is included this morning. We depart for the Old West town of Tombstone. Here you can enjoy historic saloons, post office and see the famous Boot Hill cemetery. Imagine a shootout at the O.K. Corral. We return to Tucson and relax for the evening.
Before saying goodbye to Tucson, we take a narrated tram tour through Sabino Canyon. We have lunch at Casa Grande (included) then continue west to Painted Rocks Petroglyph State Park. We head for Yuma where we join Chef Tina Clark for a cooking demonstration and a hands-on tamale making lesson. Tamales for dinner!
Today we visit the Yuma Territorial Prison State Park. Next, learn about growing lettuce. Did you know Yuma is known as the Winter Lettuce Capital of the World? We arrive at Lake Havasu City for 2 nights. Dinner and evening at your leisure at our lakefront resort.
This morning see London Bridge, a local landmark. Next enjoy a Jet Boat Tour of Lake Havasu through Havasu National Wildlife Reserve seeing loads of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Enjoy the rest of the day on your own.
This morning we head to Kingman to the Route 66 Museum. After lunch, we visit Grand Canyon National Park and take in the beauty of one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Dinner is included tonight.
Today we spend the day exploring the Grand Canyon National Park. Enjoy a guided tour of the South Rim. After, you can use the park shuttle system for additional viewpoints and hiking. You can participate in a variety of optional activities such as jeep tours, helicopter tours, and the iMax theater. Your guide can assist you booking these. The afternoon and evening are on your own.
Today we spend the morning exploring Grand Canyon National Park. We visit the Cameron Trading Post in the Navajo Nation with goods produced locally. We then head to Flagstaff for lunch on your own. Continuing to Sedona, we stay 2 nights in Arizona’s red rock country.
Enjoy a Jeep Tour through Sedona Red Rock country today! Then we board the Verde Canyon Railroad for a beautiful nature-filled ride. More fun at Blazin’ M Ranch with an Old West courtyard with a shooting gallery, mechanical roping horse and lots more. Dinner is an all-you-can-eat chuck wagon then an Old West stage production. Return to Sedona for overnight.
Today we see Montezuma Castle National Monument. Next, we descend to the Phoenix Valley. The Musical Instrument Museum has 6800 instruments. Enjoy free time at the Desert Ridge Marketplace for lunch and shopping. Learn about Southwest Native American culture at the Heard Museum. Our hotel is in Old Town Scottsdale. Explore Old Town on your own.
We head to Queen Creek Olive Mill to tour an olive orchard. Have fun tasting the olive oils. Lunch on your own in the marketplace. Next ,we explore Goldfield Ghost Town. Then get ready to take a Jeep Tour on the Apache Trail. Enjoy the scenery of the Superstition Mountains. An authentic western cookout with cowboy entertainment is a great way to end the day!
Today we travel east through the Tonto National Forest to our lunch stop in Gallup. We spend the night in Albuquerque, completing our day with a group dinner at a local restaurant.
This morning we go to the Turquoise Museum to learn all about mining and processing this blue stone. Our next destination is the Acoma Pueblo to learn about the Native people of New Mexico and their traditional practices. A guided tour of the Sky City Cultural Center and a visit of the Haak’u Museum end with leisure time back at Albuquerque.
