Day 3

Friday, October 11

Breakfast included. Headed out west today. Once we arrive in Albuquerque, we will check into our hotel in for our three night stay. We will meet our tour guide that will be with us for the next three days. We will arrive at the Balloon Fiesta Park, imagine 54 football fields all put together. That’s the size of the Balloon Fiesta Park’s 78 acre launch field and all of the park’s ‘playing field’ - no viewing stands. Guests walk the field and are part of the action. You will enjoy dinner at the Chaser Club (included). This will give you direct access to the Special Shapes Glowdeo - see the special shapes at night. We will see the Twilight Twinkle Glow, where all balloons fire their burners and light up at the same time to fill the sky with a kaleidoscope of color, perhaps the most spectacular moments of the Fiesta. We will end the night with the greatest fireworks show in New Mexico.

Day 4

Saturday, October 12

Breakfast included. We will visit the Turquoise Museum, where you will enter through a mock mine tunnel and see the veins and nugget formations just as if you were a miner. We will then experience an introduction to the way of life of the Pueblo Tribes of the Southwest at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Next, we have a driving city tour of Albuquerque. We will see downtown and the University of New Mexico before stopping in Albuquerque's Old Town. Here, you will have lunch on your own and will be able to do some shopping and exploring. This afternoon, we will board the Sandia Peak Tramway - the worlds longest aerial tram for a 2.7 mile ride to the Sandia Peak. Dinner and evening are at your leisure.

Day 5

Sunday, October 13

We head out early this morning to the launch site for the Balloon Fiesta. You will learn why Albuquerque is called the Balloon Capitol of the World. Breakfast included at the Chaser Club. This morning we will enjoy the Dawn Patrol Show. We will then send the pilots off with a cheer followed by the Morning Glow sendoff. To end the show, see the Mass Ascensions, where hundreds of balloons fill the sky with color - an overwhelming sight! We will then enjoy some free time in Old Town, where you can wander through the many shops, galleries, and restaurants for lunch on your own. Old Town is sure to delight the shopper and sightseer! Tonight, we will enjoy dinner with a traditional cuisine of the area (included in tour).

Day 6

Monday, October 14

Breakfast included. Today, we will head to Santa Fe on the Turquoise Trail (State Rd 14). We will make a stop at the real-life ghost town of Madrid. The only sign of life here is when artists come and paint this picturesque place. You will have some time to explore here. Once we arrive in Santa Fe, we will have a combination tour of driving and walking. We will then arrive at the Santa Fe Plaza. Here you will have free time to explore, shop, and have lunch on your own. Make sure you have time to stroll through the Indian Market.
