Fall Rails in West Virginia

Relax aboard our luxurious motorcoach as we head East towards the Appalachians! Our home for tonight will be in Indianapolis, IN. Happy Hour is included this evening. Dinner and evening are at your leisure.

Breakfast is included this morning. As we continue our way East, we will drive through the Allegheny Mountains. We will be staying two nights in Beckley, WV. Dinner and evening are at your leisure.

Breakfast is included today. Today, we will take an underground tour of the Beckley Coal Mine in a ‘man car’. We will then head up to Fayetteville, WV, for lunch and some shopping on your own. From there, we will see the second largest and highest single-span, steel arch bridge in the world, the New River Gorge Bridge. We will visit the Canyon Rim Visitor Center to get a different view of the bridge and some time to explore. Dinner is included this evening.

Breakfast is included this morning. We will depart for Cass, WV to board the Greenbrier Express. This train follows the Greenbrier River to the small mountain village of Durbin. On our journey, we will also pass through a secluded wilderness portion of the Monongahela National Forest. Once in Durbin, lunch will be included. After we arrive back in Cass, we will travel to Elkins, WV, where we will stay for two nights. This evening, we will enjoy a dinner show with Crandall Creek (included in tour).

Breakfast is included today. We will depart for our guided tour of the Blackwater Falls State Park. Lunch is on your own. We will travel to Canaan Valley Resort State Park, a mountain destination nestled on a plateau overlooking the valley. Here you can take the chairlift up to get a bird’s eye view of the valley and the Allegheny Mountains. The picturesque landscape becomes even more in the Fall. Dinner is included this evening.

Breakfast is included today. This morning, we will travel to Romney, WV to board the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad. We will ride through the majestic Trough Canyon, which was named by George Washington and home to bald eagles and the Sycamore Bridge. Lunch is included on the train. After our ride, we will travel to Cumberland, MD, where we will stay for two nights. Dinner and evening are at your leisure.

Breakfast is included today. This morning, you will have time to explore the Cumberland Visitor Center and the C&O Canal. From here, we will board our last train, the Western Maryland Frostburg Flyer. Lunch is included on the train. This train travels through the Allegheny Mountains with a layover in Frostburg. Dinner and evening at your leisure.
